Wood Anemone (Anemone nemerosa) HP AGM
Delicate nodding white or pink flowers in carpets in March-April over attractive finely-cut foliage. In the wild it grows best in woodland, shady open sites and hedgerows (where grass is not too vigorous) in soil of low fertility along with primroses. Ht 6in. They grow best in a well-drained soil without competition from other plants. Plant at intervals of 9in and should colonise readily in soil with plenty of added leaf mould. Widespread throughout the British Isles.
