Bluebells (Hyacinthioides non-scripta) HBb
Drifts of bright blue are the stunning hallmark of this beautiful woodland bulb. They prefer a light slightly acid soil in shade or sun but the intensity of their colour is lost in the sun. The flowers can be blue, white or even pink and have a spicy perfume. May be planted under trees, in a hedge with primroses or massed together in short lawn grass. Plant at a depth of 2in, 6in apart. Ht 12-18in.
