French Tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus) HHP
Without a doubt, this is among the Rolls Royces of the culinary herb collection. Its flavour complements so many dishes – chicken, veal, fish, tomatoes, rice and salad dressings, and is the main ingredient of Sauce Bernaise. The leaves are smooth, dark green, long and narrow and have a strong flavour. Ht 3ft S 18in. Grows best in sun and poor, sandy soil and needs protection in winter.
