Lime Mint (Mentha x piperata f.citrata 'Lime') HP/BB
Grown for its medicinal uses since the Egyptian times, mint has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties and can be used as a stimulant – that is before all the culinary uses! This is one of my favourite herbs to cook with as it adds such a fresh flavour to dishes. Tends to dislike wet and cold winters and is slow to emerge in spring after these – better in light but moist fertile soil in sun or light shade. Lime mint is a relatively new variety with a spicy lime flavour, great for Middle Eastern and Asian dishes.
