Common Mallow (Malva sylvestris) HP/BB
A common plant in lowland Britain found in some numbers on roadsides, banks and waste ground, mainly on dry, very well drained soils. It makes an excellent garden plant with large roundish leaves and big pink-purple flowers from June to September. It has medicinal properties and is supposed to act as a soothing agent for sore or inflamed skin – good for bee stings. Ht 1-3ft.
