Geranium pratense 'Midnight Reiter'
This is a beautiful form of the wild Meadow cranesbill. The finely dissected foliage is deepest maroon-red turning dark green with beetroot colour edges as it matures providing the perfect backdrop for the deep blue cup-shaped single flowers. It is long lived but a slow grower than the wild form. It will tolerate sun or partial shade, moist or dryish conditions but will have darker foliage in sun. The dainty flowers emerge in May and make a colourful addition to containers or the front of a border. Cut back after flowering to encourage the growth of fresh foliage, this looks lovely through until autumn. Ht 25cm S 30cm
