This is an unusual form of the cottage garden favourite columbine. Stately clusters of flowers with white petals and dark purple/black sepals are borne on long stems above grey-green rounded leaves that are divided into leaflets. It’s a popular aquilegia and makes an attractive cut flower. Grows in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun to partial shade. Aquilegias are prone to self-seeding around the garden which i like as you never know where they will pop up gives a very natural feel to the garden. Ht to 80cm S 30cm.
