Viola sororia 'Freckles'
An unusual selection of a violet native to Eastern North America. Plants form a mound of large heart-shaped leaves, bearing numerous large pearly-white flowers in spring, each heavily spotted and freckled with deep china blue. Excellent choice for a children’s garden, growing easily in any shady or damp area. Combines beautifully with spring blooming bulbs, especially later-flowering narcissi. It will self-seed around freely in the garden, so choose a site where they can spread. Very hardy and robust. Flowers are edible and delicately scented. Ht 20cm S 30-40cm
