A compact, bushy plant which features dense, upright, terminal spikes (racemes) of tiny, deep rose-red flowers which bloom most of the summer and are very attractive to bees and butterflies. Lance-shaped, glossy green leaves. Makes a good cut flower. Should be grown in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Best performance occurs with consistent, regular moisture combined with sharp soil drainage, particularly in winter. The plants have shallow roots and are generally intolerant of dry soil conditions in summer. Remove spent flower spikes to encourage additional bloom. Ht and S 30-40cm.
