This is one of the loveliest of spring garden flowers and was first found by the famous garden writer Margery Fish growing in her Somerset garden, Lamrook Manor. This hybrid is more delicate in appearance than some of the other polemoniums. Sprays of dancing pale lilac flowers are held above a neat mound of ferny foliage in May, June and July It is hard to define what makes a ‘cottage garden plant’ but this is certainly one; easy to grow and with a comfortable, un-groomed look about it that sits well with Aquilegias, Ajugas, Solomon’s seal and other cottage garden plants. Visited by bees and butterflies. Ht and S 30-45cm
For full sun or partial shade in a well-draining soil.
