Harebell (also known as the Bluebell of Scotland) (Campanula rotundifolia) HP/BN
Harebells grow in profusion up here in the Peak District and it is a lovely sight in late July and August when all the roadside verges turn sky-blue with the nodding heads of these lovely flowers on their slender stems. They are very adaptable growing in most conditions from damp, peaty heather moors in Scotland to dry, chalky grassland further south. They make an excellent garden plant for the front of a border, a rock garden or in a container. Ht 6 – 12in.
