The Purple Shamrock has burgundy-red leaves above which pure white, sometimes tinged pink flowers joyfully dance. It is a deciduous, bulbous plant that is said to be tender but I have found it to be pretty hardy if given a moist but well drained soil and a thick winter mulch.

Ideal for the front of a part shaded borders mixed in with brighter coloured low-growing alpines that will compliment each others colours. Ht 10-15cm.
