Fritillaria uva-vulpis HBb
A particularly lovely species – the chestnut-brown flowers are edged with bright yellow and tinged with olive on the inside. Flowers appear in April or May growing to 12-18in. Needs a sunny well-drained spot that does not get wet in the winter. Fritillaries are a fascinating group of plants offering great variation in flower and preferred habitat. Once settled into the garden they are very long-lasting and rewarding.
