Also known as Autumn Crocus or Naked Ladies. Beautiful fully double pinkish-lilac flowers are produced in autumn without any leaves, hence the name 'naked ladies'. They look lovely when planted under trees or shrubs with good autumn colour bringing a touch of spring to autumn. The thick fleshy leaves do not appear until spring to replenish the bulb. They like a rich, deep, fertile soil that is not too dry, in a sunny site. Ht 12cm (5in) S 10cm (4in). Clumps should only be divided when they are very congested.
